Gonski funding is making a real difference to schools across Australia but WA students have missed out because the Barnett Government won’t pass on the extra funding to our schools.
That funding could be used to provide more one-to-one support, smaller classes and extra programs for students who need them.
Now Malcolm Turnbull has a plan to plan to cut Gonski funding after 2017 which would cost WA schools another $330 million in lost resources.
Please join other Gonski supporters in phoning Premier Barnett on Wednesday, November 23rd, to tell him how important properly funding our schools is for you.
The Barnett Government has said it may even support Malcolm Turnbull’s cuts to Gonski and has given no guarantee it will increase its own funding.
This would be a betrayal of our children, and they need to hear from you that our schools and our students matter.
Politicians take notice when members of the public call, and every call will make a difference.
You don’t need to be a school funding expert. You just need to take a few minutes to tell your story, why Gonski is important to you, and let the Premier know you expect the Barnett Government to stand up for our schools.
Click the button below to sign up, and prior to November 23rd we’ll send you details of how to call and some tips on what to say.
